Guest Capping

Capping is a means for prospective hunt members to be introduced to the Ottawa Valley Hunt and to hunting in general. The Ottawa valley Hunt welcomes guests from hunts across the country and from around the world.

Capping is permitted at the discretion of the Masters.

Requests must be submitted at least a week in advance and references given for the suitability of both the rider and horse.

A waiver must be signed and capping fee paid in advance.

The capping fee is $75.00 for one day or $200.00 for 3 days, but is subject to change.

Cappers may attend the Greenbox following the hunt. With prior arrangement, Cappers may be accompanied by 1 companion for dinner for an additional fee of $20.00.

All cappers must adhere to the Hunting Etiquette of the OVH.

Hard Hats with harness (which must be done up whilst riding) and riding boots are mandatory. Hacking jackets are allowed.

Special Pony Club and Stable Days can be arranged in the Fall. Such arrangements reduce the cost of capping. Please complete the Contact Information Form and email it as requested or contact Basia Anders, Hon. Secretary, or Mrs. Kay Leach, MFH – See Contact Us
