2020 OVH PUBLIC EVENTS

In addition to attending our cross-country  rides or hunts as a guest, you can take part in our four fun public events!

July 5     Hunter pace: First jewel
Aug. 9    Poker pace
Sep. 20   Hunter pace: Second jewel
Oct. 18   Hunter pace: Triple crown finale


Below is the key information for each event. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. The completed (please type) and signed entry form must be emailed to events@ottawavalleyhunt.com in advance. If you are unable to scan the signed waiver, you can bring it to the secretary's booth. See the bottom of this page for payment information. Should the event be cancelled e.g. due to thunder, your entry fee will be returned.


Note that there may be a photographer(s) taking photos at these events and that the photos may be used in OVH’s social media, website, emails and collateral. If you have any questions, please contact events@ottawavalleyhunt.com for more information.



July 5     Hunter pace: First jewel

Fundraiser for the Lanark County Therapeutic Riding Program

Pre-registration and pre-payment required. The completed (please type) and signed entry form must be emailed to events@ottawavalleyhunt.com in advance. If you are unable to scan the signed waiver, you can bring it to the secretary's booth. See the bottom of this page for payment information.

The Lanark County Therapeutic Riding Program (LCTRP) provides a safe environment for introducing disabled children and adults to the benefits and joys of the healing powers of the horse. See therapeuticriding.ca for more information and the Donate now page for information on supporting the LCTRP. You can also download a pledge sheet which should be put in an envelope along with the exact cash or cheque. An LCTRP representative will be at the event selling raffle tickets ($5 each). If you want to buy tickets, please bring cash in an envelope. 


Location: OVH Farm, 8935 Abb Road, Ashton

Schedule: Pre-registration and pre-payment required. If you are unable to scan the signed waiver, you can bring it to the secretary's booth. Secretary's booth opens at 8 am. Teams of max. 3 riders start between 9 am and 11 am.

Description:  Teams follow a marked route with optional jumping across fabulous hunt country. Ribbons to 6th place.


Read the OVH biosecurity protocols. Unlike noted before, we will have two portapotties and the clubhouse bathroom available. We will not be able to provide food services; however, the patio bar will be open for refreshments after your ride. The winners will be posted on the OVH website as well as published by email and through the OVH's social media channels. The ribbons will be mailed to the winners. 


For those trailering in from the East: Highway 417 to close in both directions July 2 to 6 for bridge replacement


August 9     Poker Pace

Location: Sunset Farms, 6559 Hazeldean Road, Stittsville

Schedule: Registration opens at 9 am. Teams head out between 10 am and noon.

Description:  Teams follow a marked route with optional jumping to five card stations and pic a card from each. Ribbons to 5th pace plus prizes for the best and worst poker hands.


September 20     Hunter pace: Second jewel

Note that in addition to the OVH registration and waiver form, you need to complete this Heart and Stroke Foundation waiver.


October 18     Hunter pace: Triple crown finale

Registration fee $50 (hst incl.)


If you are unable to pre-pay using e-transfer or credit card (PayPal), you can bring cash (exact amount in an envelope - no change will be provided) or a cheque made to the Ottawa Valley Hunt to the secretary's booth.
